Alto Maipo Winery Tour
Discover 2 unique wineries with us on our winery tour from Santiago that stretch out to the foothills of the Andes and that nowadays form part of the city, as Santiago city has literally grown to the borders of their land.
On this winery tour in the Alto Maipo Valley, we start with a visit to one of Chile’s oldest wineries. This winery has an amazing original wine cellar dating back to the 1850’s, made out of a special substance called “Cal y Canto”. This is a mixture of egg white, sand and lime. After all the earthquakes Chile has endured, we can still admire the wine cellar in its original state, even though during the last big earthquake in 2010 many wine bottles were lost.
We then continue our winery tour with a visit to a small privately-owned winery with a beautiful garden located at the foot of the majestic Andes. From the winery’s view tower, you can admire the beautiful views over the winery itself, the Andes and some parts of the city.
During the second tour you will be offered a gourmet selection of jamon serrano, cheese & bread to accompany the wine tasting.
Pick up
You will be picked up at 10.00 and returned by 16.00 to your hotel. Driving time is about 45 min from Santiago.
